CIDH AFRICA's work on peace and security in Africa is focused on a number of key areas, including: • Documenting and reporting on human rights abuses. CIDH AFRICA produces regular reports on the human rights situation in North Africa, highlighting specific abuses and making recommendations to governments and the international community. This work helps to raise awareness of human rights abuses and to hold governments accountable. • Advocating for human rights reforms. CIDH AFRICA advocates for reforms to laws and policies that violate human rights. The Commission also works to strengthen institutions such as the judiciary and the police, which are essential for protecting human rights. • Supporting human rights defenders. CIDH AFRICA provides support to human rights defenders in North Africa, who often face threats and harassment for their work. The Commission provides legal and financial assistance, as well as training and capacity-building. CIDH AFRICA's work on peace and security in Africa is important for a number of reasons.
