AFKAR Organization For Educational & Cultural Development is a Palestinian legally-based NGO. AFKAR has been working since 2009 in Palestine to provide educational civically-based creative and alternative approaches, and affect policy dialogue and accountability increase for better quality and inclusive learning by which truly democratic, civic values and participatory approaches could be practiced by the whole community to reach a well-entrenched civic society. We still view the quality of education, as a holistic rights-based concept, valid as a basis for a framework for future action. Provision of quality basic services and improved access to resources and an educational environment for the most vulnerable children and affected people is also another pillar of AFKAR’s intervention as stated in its third strategic objective. Human rights education and other crosscutting themes such as gender perspective and good governance have guided our work.
