South Asian region entails a number of  refugees in different countries caused by civil wars, political instabiity and extremism being several causes. However, except for Afghanistan, no other regional nation is a signitory to the UNHCR Regugee Convention of 1951. Due to the reason there is no regugee policy that benefits the refugees in the region.

SAHR percieves that WSF2024 as an appropriate occassion to draw attention to this issue through this parallel event.
