Unveiling the Voices of Multiply Marginalized Women and Girls

The World Social Forum (WSF), born as an adverse effect of neoliberalism will discuss the means of changes through feminist perspectives/actions in Kathmandu, Nepal in February 2024. In this connection, Beyond Beijing Committee (BBC) Nepal a human rights feminist National Network organization advocating and working continuously to achieve substantive gender equality, women’s human rights and sustainable development in Nepal conceptualize to organize women assembly on “Unveiling the voices of multiply marginalized women and girls” in Nepal aiming to create a dynamic platform for dialogue, reflection, and action on issues crucial to the uncover the voices of women and girl who are marginalized in different forms.

Given a background, women face multiple forms of discrimination in their everyday lives; they have an increased risk of poverty and limited negotiating power and access to resources. For example, indigenous peoples[1] account for five percent of the world’s population, but 15 percent of people living in poverty. It is therefore necessary to show solidarity in order to have their voices heard of multiply marginalized women—women with disabilities, indigenous people, ethnic minorities, LBTIQ + community, senior citizens, and those left behind to show solidarity in order to have their voices heard for gender just society.

Through this platform we invite women’s, feminist and youth-led organizations, international organizations, and the private sector to catalyze collective action; spark global and local conversations among feminist movement organization; drive increased public and private awareness; and deliver concrete progress on gender equality across generations for girls and women. The objectives of the women’s assembly aim to bring together diverse voices of multiply marginalized women to foster understanding, solidarity, and collaborative action.
