“Building a Strong Movement for a Rapid, Just and Equitable Fossil Fuel Phase Out”

Short Description: The Side-Event brings together climate and energy movements and campaigners in Asia and around the globe to share updates of their ongoing fights and initiatives in phasing out fossil fuels in their respective countries and communities. It also aims to draw out ideas and recommendations in strengthening the movement for Rapid, Just and Equitable Fossil Fuel Phase Out with the push for Transition to 100% Renewable Energy as a key area in the campaign to phase out fossil fuels at the national and regional/global levels. The event is proposed to  serve as the first of a series of discussions following the WSF in Nepal. 

 

The event will be in a Panel Discussion format and will take place physically and virtually (via Zoom) to enable engagement and participation among climate and energy  campaigners in the region.
