The workshop aims to visualize and value the strategies for sustaining and conserving the identities and cultures of origin of migrant groups in the receiving territories.

It aims to analyze the current role of the institutions that represent immigrant groups from the beginning of the 20th century and their descendants as possible spaces for both the protection of identities of origin and political exercise in the defense and permanence of cultural diversity, resisting the homogenization of the globalized world.

It is proposed to raise the problem by recognizing the validity of discourses and identity practices in the face of the threat of a “disappearance” of different cultural belongings.
