16th Series of World Social Forum
Global Talk on Global Hunger, Right to Food and Food Sovereignty
Date: 16 February 2024,
Time: 2 PM sharp
Venue: Nepal Tourism Board Hall – Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu
The program is the parallel session of the 16th series of World Social Forum 2024 and particularly focused on the human right to food and food sovereignty within the frameworks of the food system. Open-closed interactions and dialogue among right-to-food advocates of the world will be done on several themes as like -- impact of globalization, privatization, and commercialization on food sovereignty. Further, gender and climate justice for the right to food, customary food production, and consumption practices for the food sovereignty of marginalized communities and groups such as forest food producers, fisherfolk, smallholders' framers, and indigenous peoples will be discussed in the program.
Objectives
- To spared the clear messages that, Civil society organizations is standings against globalization, privatization, and commercialization
- To deliver strong solidarity for individual and collective global movements of activists who have been fighting against inequality, poverty, and hunger,
