In an increasingly interconnected world, South-South co-development emerges as a powerful alternative to stimulate growth and promote the autonomy of Southern nations. However, to achieve sustainable social and economic transition, it is imperative to rethink existing models.
Conference Objectives:
1. Analyze the current challenges of socio-economic models in Southern countries.
2. Identify specific opportunities offered by South-South co-development.
3. Advocate for the need for a new global model for co-development.
4. Define concrete strategies for implementing co-development in the current global context.

Statement
- We recommend directing recommendations towards enhancing economic and social cooperation among Southern countries by developing mechanisms for knowledge and technology exchange and promoting strategic partnerships.
- We advise supporting capacity building and the development of education and vocational training in Southern countries to boost economic transformation, encourage innovation and creativity, and enhance the skills necessary for achieving shared development.
- We suggest encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship by creating a supportive environment and providing facilitations for youth and innovators in Southern countries.
- We recommend promoting cultural communication and effective exchange between various communities in Southern countries to foster mutual understanding and build strong connections.
- We advise supporting sustainable development and environmental conservation by adopting economic models that take into account economic, social, and environmental needs.
Kathmandu Declaration
We, the representatives of Nepalese associations and Moroccan associations, gathered in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of participation in the World Social Forum which was held from February 15 to 19, 2024 (3 to 7 Falgun 2080), hereby declare:
- The Moroccan associations extend their heartfelt congratulations to the people and government of Nepal for the exceptional organization of the World Social Forum. The dedication and meticulous planning exhibited in hosting this global event deserve commendation.
- The Moroccan side expresses its sincere gratitude to the Nepalese people for their warm welcome and hospitality extended to all participants of the World Social Forum. The kindness and generosity displayed have left an indelible mark on our hearts.
- Recognizing the mutual benefits of enhanced cooperation, we, as associations, call for the development of robust bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and Nepal.
Strengthening ties in various fields, including but not limited to trade, culture, and education, will contribute to the prosperity and welfare of both nations.
- All parties announce the establishment of a “Nepal-Moroccan associative network” aimed at fostering fraternity and co-development between our two countries.
- Through collaborative efforts and exchange programs, we aim to promote mutual understanding, solidarity, and socio-economic progress.
- Building upon the spirit of solidarity, we call upon associations from South Asia and the African countries to join hands in creating an Asian and African Alliance for Development. This alliance will serve as a platform for sharing experiences, resources, and expertise to address common challenges and promote sustainable development across both continents.
We declare at the same time, our desire and commitment to take as a reference for our initiative: the principles of Human Rights, peace and security, justice, territorial integrity and co-development.
In conclusion, we affirm our commitment to the principles of cooperation, mutual respect, and solidarity. Let us work together tirelessly to build a world where every individual can thrive, irrespective of nationality or background.
