Staying Hopeful and Sustaining Ourselves as Activists and Organizers!
People at the forefront of the movements working towards another world tend to face burnout. We may struggle to find ways to stay hopeful. We may lack spaces where we feel connected. Staying hopeful is important for all of us. Come and learn some tools allowing us to renew hope to reach “Another world.”
To build and sustain a strong movement we must have a place to share and heal from feelings about our issues, the damage we experience from oppression, and any discouragement we feel about taking needed action.
Oppressions leaves us all with emotional burdens of grief, sadness, and even despair. Having a chance to feel and heal these emotions can unleash our initiative and thinking to be able to address the global crisis more effectively.
We all realize the urgency of handling the climate crisis. We also need to understand it has its deep roots in all other forms oppression and exploitation. Addressing the climate crisis requires broad and powerful coalitions. However, oppressions continually divide and separate people, making it harder to create and sustain these coalitions. In our workshops, we will move beyond the concept of “enemies” which fuels every form of separation and propose the concept of “No Human Enemies” as a strategy for climate Justice organizing.

Sustaining All Life (SAL)
A project of Re-evaluation Counselling
Square of Statements
19-02-24
All of us present here at WSF 2024, are working on different issues which stand on the foundation of Societal oppressive systems, inequality, and injustice. Coming through these systems all of us carry a huge burden of unhealed emotional traumas & distresses, running through generations. We as activists face burnout & all emotions that challenge our hope. Also, our work involves working with underprivileged groups from societies who carry their own burden of unhealed emotional traumas & distresses.
We, at SAL, think that working on these emotions & healing from the traumas is very important for us to be able to think & act with better clarity towards 'Another World and sustainable alternatives.' We have been working on the emotional traumas & distresses through our Tools that are developed through decades of practical application. We (SAL) propose that you, as organization or as an individual, could give this a thought. We would like to offer a supportive hand in the form of listening circles/support groups. The structure and timeline of this could be anywhere between once a month to once in three months; depending upon the group that gets formed. We would love to be with you & be part of this re-evaluation through emotional healing processes.
We are together in the process of journey towards Another world & Alternative Solutions!
