As the agenda of Civic Engagement and Political Participation of Persons with Disabilities is amongst the least prioritised issue, Blind Youth Association Nepal (BYAN) wants to have a comprehensive dialogue with the international and national experts and participants to exchange the experience and try to identify common grounds to carry on the issue into the mainstream discourse. The discussion shall be centred around the existing scenarios   of disability civic engagement and political participations, the situation in acceptance and involvement in civil society organizations, existing barriers to hinder full and effective participation of persons with disabilities in civic space, politics and civil society organizations and the potential course of actions to ensure their inclusion, representation and meaningful participation in those spaces. As the program modality, there will be two paper presentations from the Nepali speakers. One will present the existing Nepalese scenarios on civic engagement and political participation of the persons with disabilities and the next will present the existing situation of  meaningful inclusion, participation and representation of persons with disabilities in the civil society organizations in nepal. Afterwards, there will be a panel discussion, where the international and national experts along with sharing the foreign trends, practices and experiences will discuss the potential measures to ensure and promote disability civic engagement, political participation and their inclusion and representation in the politics and civil society organizations. Lastly, there will be the question and answer segment, where the paper presenter and panelist will address the queries of the participants.
