The SCOPE is focused on exchanging on the experience and persectives of FACILITATION  of social forum processes

About Facilitation of WSF as intercommunication process held in an open space

Facilitation  is sustaining the intercommunication process with   an invitation narrative  ( how to participate and for what)   implementation of formats of participation  ( presence,  co preparting  activity  of dialogue ,  co assuming  initiatives of action , co drafting news )  ,  and provi ding  mutual visibility

These sustaining tasks  are keeping the space open to participants  and  providing  the formats/containers where to self organize   alone or in groups for preparing their activities,  describing their initiatives,  for publishing their news

"Facilitation"   is  essentially  distinct from " acts of  participation" towards  developping   intercommunication   socio-politcal dialogue and  possible agreements on some decisions

Facilitation becomes a  strategic experience and collective knowledge about sustaining social forum processes ( open space processes),  and  social assemblies (deliberative process)

This activity is    A moment of Exchange of experiences between organizations / persons  that are contrituing to facilitate a social foroum process, and particularly the WSF process, along the WSF principles

With a  document of  inputs  ( see attached document)   based on Caritas international contributions along a 20 years journey  in International council of WSF  and  in various organzing committee of WSF events - Other contributions welcome

STATEMENT S140: Towards a space of dialogues about the WSF process, its functions, its facilitation and ways of development and improvement

We intend to work together for dialogues about the importance and function of the WSF process and about how it can be developed and imoproved.

To achieve this we will try to develop a "space" for our cooperation. By this we mean that we will seek- ways of staying in touch for sharing experiences and ideas, analysis and critique and also, initiatives and proposals for developing and strengthening the WSF process.

We will do our best to make our space for cooperation transparent and easily accessible for all who may be interested.

The persons who take this initiative have in common that we  have some experience of contributing to the WSF process at different levels. We consider this participation as a part of our  political and cultural identity.

We are active in organizations that have contributed to the WSF, but this is not an initiative that comes from the organizations.

The first signatories of this statement intend to interact with english as working language on line to define some practical ways to develop this space
